Alexander Calder
Alexander Calder was born on July 22, 1898 in Lawton, Pennsylvania. Both of Calder's parents were professional artists. His father, Alexander Stirling Calder, was a sculptor. His mother, Nanette Lederer Calder, was a portrait painter. So from birth, Calder was immersed in the world of creativity.
